Pilanesberg Trip Report I just came back from an amazing 4 day trip to Pilanesberg. It took us about 18 hours to drive from Cape Town to the park entrance via Kimberley. We arrived in the afternoon so we had some extra time for a game drive as the gates only close at 7 pm. It didn’t take us long to spot some wildlife, which was right next to the road. Pilanesberg Sightings
A Great Spot On a cold September morning we went out into the park expecting to have a refreshing drive with good Pilanesberg sightings. Little did we know that we were about to have one of the best drives ever! As we got into the centre of the park a call comes in, there are 8 lions on the road! The disperse pride, 5 young males and 3 females with youngsters, all playing beside the road. What a start to the morning! The brisk start to the day continued to produce really nice Pilanesberg sightings with springboks pronking, wildebeest fighting, elephants walking past the car and the local fish eagle breeding pair having a bit of a duet.
